X-Men

Hated and feared for powers given to them by an extra gene in their chromosomes, the X-Men were assembled by Charles Xavier, with the dream that one day Mutants and Humans could live together in peace. He eventually decided to start a school for mutants, training them to be what would eventually become his first “X-Men”.

As a lifelong friend of Xavier, Eric Lehnsherr attempted to get Xavier to see reason – that humans had no intention of peace. The two quarreled for decades, and finally decided that an agreement would never be met between them. Lehnsherr formed his own group of gifted individuals – the Brotherhood of Mutants. Lehnsherr and his acolytes eventually settled in Genosha as their home nation, while the X-Men remained secluded in their mansion in upstate New York.

Over the years the X-Men, blinded by Xavier’s naivety, fought against the Brotherhood and their quest to protect mutantkind. This optimism was shattered when Senator Kelly – with the aid of Xavier’s genetic twin Cassandra Nova – ordered an armada of colossal Sentinels to Genosha. After the massacre, the X-Men have attempted feeble gestures of reparation and peace. Many Genoshans, however, will neither forgive nor forget the ignorance that allowed their nation to be destroyed so completely.
